A free AI app builder that is already on your computer: your own assistant

LetBe.ai turns the AI assistant you already use into a free AI app builder. Paste one prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor; it builds the AI part on LetBe, writes the app around it, and puts the app online on hosting you own. You pay nothing to start and paste no API keys.

Can ChatGPT build me an app?

Yes, and so can Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. What stops them today is not the code. An app with AI inside needs two things an assistant cannot give you on its own: an AI part that is hosted and paid for, and a place to put the app online. LetBe.ai gives the assistant the first one: it creates the AI part in your LetBe account, tests it, and gets its own key for the app, all through a connection you approve with one click. Free hosting gives it the second: the assistant puts the app online and hands you the address. You describe the app once and answer a yes.

What happens after you paste the prompt

  1. It reads a short guide. The prompt points your assistant at one page on our portal that tells it what to do, step by step, and what to read at each step. You never read it.
  2. It connects to your LetBe account. A coding assistant opens a page and you press Allow. A chat assistant asks you to add a connection once, about a minute, from a page with the exact clicks.
  3. It asks what you are building. One question, in plain words. Or tell it what you do and it proposes a few ideas.
  4. It shows you a short plan and waits for your yes. That one yes covers building the AI part, testing it a few times, and the first version of the app.
  5. It builds the AI part in your account and tests it with realistic messages until the replies read well.
  6. It writes the app around it: a web page, a bot, a small tool, whatever fits what you said. A coding assistant runs it on your machine first so you can try it.
  7. It puts the app online at the app's own address, with its own database and https, hosted by LetBe. Nothing to sign up for; you say yes and get a live address.

If the app needs to keep data, the assistant starts with a small built-in database and tells you so; if you already have one, you give it the address and it switches.

Which assistants work?

Coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and similar) do everything themselves: they connect, write the app, give you a preview to try, and put it online. You press Allow once for LetBe and that is all.

Chat assistants (ChatGPT, Claude on the web or desktop) can read and reason but cannot make requests on their own. They ask you to add a connection once, and we keep one page with the exact clicks for each of them. ChatGPT needs a paid ChatGPT plan to add connections; without one, your assistant still writes the AI part as a file you import in the portal, plus the app.

It does not matter which assistant you pay for, or whether you pay for one at all. The building happens with the assistant you already have; nothing on our side asks you to buy builder credits.

What do you pay, and when?

Nothing to start. Your LetBe account comes with free credits, and the AI part runs on those. The app itself sits on free hosting that belongs to you. When the free credits are used up, you top up a prepaid wallet; the app and its address stay exactly where they are, and the AI part picks up again. There is no plan you must buy before the app is allowed online. Prices are on the pricing page, and your assistant tells you before any step that spends credits.

What do you end up with?

  • A live address on hosting you own, with the app's code on your side. Nothing about the app is locked to us; the AI part is the only piece that runs here.
  • The AI part in your LetBe account, where you can open it in the visual builder, change its instructions, add your own documents for it to answer from, or ask your assistant to change it.
  • Usage you can see: every run, and what it cost, on your wallet page.

Two apps people built this way, and one to try

A lead qualifier for a consultant

Typed: "a page where a visitor describes what they need, and the AI asks the right questions and sends me a summary". The assistant built the AI part with a short set of instructions, tested it with three fake leads, wrote a one-page site, and put it online in the same conversation.

A dance move inventor

Typed: "a dance inventor web app". The AI part invents a named move with counts and a practice drill from a vibe or a song; the page is a single text box. It started as a joke and became the example we test our own guide with.

Next: a support helper trained on a manual

Not built yet, but the same path fits it. Type "answer questions from my product manual": the assistant adds a document step so the AI part answers from the uploaded manual, then builds a small chat page that a website can embed.

Is this a prompt-to-app builder like Lovable or Bolt?

No, and the difference is where the work happens. Those builders sell you their own AI and their own credits to build with, host the app on their address, and pause the AI features when the credits end. Here the building is done by the assistant you already have, the app lives on hosting you own, and only the AI part runs on LetBe, free to start. The comparison page puts eight of them side by side on the same questions, including where we fall short: there is no visual builder for the app's screens, the assistant writes that code.

Free AI app builder questions

Can ChatGPT build me an app?

Yes. Paste the prompt from this page into ChatGPT and it builds the AI part in your LetBe account, writes the app, and helps you put it online. ChatGPT needs a paid plan to connect to outside tools; without one, it hands you the AI part as a file to import and writes the app for you to host.

Is there a completely free AI app builder?

The assistant you already use is one, once it has an AI backend and hosting. LetBe.ai provides the AI part free to start with no API keys, and the app goes on free hosting you own. You pay only when the free credits run out, and only for what the AI part processes.

How much does it cost to build an app using AI?

With this path, the building costs nothing beyond the assistant you already have. The finished app costs what its AI part processes, paid from a prepaid wallet after the free credits, and LetBe hosts it at its own address. Current prices are on our pricing page.

Can I build an app with AI for free and keep it online?

Yes. The app stays online on your own free hosting whether or not you top up; only the AI part waits for credits. That is the difference from builders that pause the whole app when a plan runs out.
