The best AI app builders compared, including the one you already have

An AI app builder turns a description into a working app: screens, a backend, and often an AI feature inside. This page compares eight ways to do it on the same nine questions, from the free tier to what happens when the credits run out. One of the eight is not a product: it is the assistant you already use, with LetBe.ai as its free AI part. We make that one, and we say so where it matters.

Free to start. No card needed.

Which builders are compared?

Lovable, Bolt.new, v0 by Vercel, Replit Agent, Base44, Anything (the product that used to be Create), Hostinger's AI builder, and your own assistant with LetBe.ai. Firebase Studio is left out: Google closed new signups in mid 2026 and announced its shutdown. They are not aimed at the same person. Some are browser studios for people who want a visual result fast, some are full cloud editors, one is a cheap bundle with a domain. The table says which is which.

Free alternatives to Lovable

Lovable's free tier builds and publishes, and it is generous for a first prototype. Two things end it: the daily build allowance, and the small monthly allowance for AI features inside your app, after which those features pause on the live site. The free alternatives in the table fall into two groups. Base44 and Bolt.new keep the same shape, a browser builder with its own credits and its own hosting, so you trade one allowance for another. Your own assistant with LetBe.ai changes the shape: the building draws on the ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor you already have, the app goes on free hosting you own, and the AI part starts on free credits that you top up only when they end. Nothing pauses on your site; only the AI part waits.

Base44 vs Lovable vs Replit, the same job on each free tier

Take one job, a lead qualifier: "a page where a visitor describes what they need, the AI asks the right questions and sends me a summary." Here is what each free tier's own published terms mean for it; we ran the job ourselves only on the last one.

Lovable builds the page and the backend and publishes on its own address. The AI questions inside the page run on the monthly AI allowance; when that ends, the page stays up and the questions stop until an upgrade.

Base44 does the same with its built-in AI call, no keys to paste, on its monthly integration allowance, and publishes on its own address; it is the closest rival to a hosted AI backend.

Replit Agent builds it in a real cloud editor with a database; the free app is not permanent, it expires after a month unless you move to a paid plan.

Your assistant with LetBe.ai, the one we ran, twice: ChatGPT connected to a LetBe account with one Allow click, created the AI part, tested it with three fake leads, minted the app its own key and wrote the page with the key on the server side; a coding assistant (Claude Code) then took the same kind of job all the way, one Allow click for LetBe, and the app was live at its own address in the same session. Total spend to get there: nothing. The AI part runs on free credits first; the app and its address are hosted by LetBe. What it did not give: a visual editor for the page. Changes are made by asking the assistant, or by editing the code it wrote.

Vibe coding tools, including the one you already have

"Vibe coding" is describing what you want and letting an AI write and fix the code. Every builder above is a vibe coding tool with its own chat box. The tools that pull ahead in tests are the assistants themselves: Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, because they run on your machine, see the whole project, and can run the app to check it. What they lack is a hosted, paid-for AI part and a habit of putting the app online. That is the gap LetBe.ai fills: paste one prompt, and the assistant you already have becomes a free AI app builder that finishes the job, live address included. The free AI app builder page has the prompt and the seven steps.

Where LetBe.ai fits, and where it falls short

LetBe.ai is not a screen builder. It is the AI part: hosted, with the models built in, free to start, and reachable by any app over one address. Your assistant does the rest, so you never buy builder credits, never paste model keys, and never move your app off someone else's address later; it was on your hosting from the start. It fits the person who already talks to ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor and wants a finished app rather than a demo. What it does not have: a drag and drop editor for the app's screens, and a one-click deploy button; the assistant writes the screens and walks you through a free hosting sign-in. ChatGPT needs a paid ChatGPT plan to connect to outside tools, so free ChatGPT users get the AI part as a file to import instead. If a visual editor is what you want most, Lovable or Base44 is the better choice, and the AI agent builders comparison covers the agent side of the same question.

AI app builder questions

Is there a free alternative to Lovable?

Yes, in two shapes. Base44 and Bolt.new are browser builders with free tiers that publish, each with its own allowance. The other shape is the assistant you already use with LetBe.ai as the free AI part: the app goes on hosting you own, and only the AI part waits for credits, never the site.

What is better, Replit or Lovable?

Replit if you want a real cloud editor, any language and a database you control, and you are ready for a paid plan, because the free app expires. Lovable if you want a polished web app and a built-in backend fast, and you accept its address and its allowances. Neither lets you build with your own assistant.

Are vibe coding tools free?

The assistants are free or already paid for: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor's free tier, Codex. The builders give a capped free tier and charge for more. The missing piece, an AI part that is hosted and paid for, is what LetBe.ai adds free to start.

Is Claude Code a vibe coding tool?

Yes, and one of the strongest: it runs on your machine, sees the whole project and can run the app. With the LetBe prompt it also connects to your account by itself, builds the AI part, and puts the app online, so it works as a complete free AI app builder rather than an editor.
